EL PARAMILLO DEL QUINDÍO IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST PEAKS OF LOS NEVADOS NATIONAL NATURAL PARK, WITH AN ALTITUDE OF 4,750 M. A. S. L. THIS MOUNTAIN WAS KNOWN AS EL NEVADO DEL QUINDÍO.
DAY 1: COCORA VALLEY AND NIEBLA FOREST
7am: Breakfast in Salento and traditional Jeep Willis transportation to the valley of the Cócora. We will start our adventure from the bottom of the Valley, through the Cárdenas River Canyon. We will climb until we reach the top of the canyon where we will enjoy a delicious lunch, with an impressive view over the canyon and its cloud forests. We will arrive in the afternoon to a traditional peasant farm that will be our resting place and where we will exchange with the family that lives there. There, we will learn together with coffees and laughter about the dynamics of our hosts

DAY 2: WETLANDS AND PARAMILLO DEL QUINDÍO
7 am. After having our breakfast, we will start the ascent route to the house in Buenos Aires. From there we will go through the valley’s middle levels, we will get to enjoy the beautiful and amazing wetlands of Quindío (option 1) or depending on the group we will ascend up to 4700 m (option 2) and we will have reached the highest point of the trek of this day, the top of Paramillo del Quindío. We will continue our way to the farm La Primavera at 3600 m, where we will sleep that night. This will be a splendid day of enjoyment of the Páramo ecosystem.

DAY 3: REST IN THE PÁRAMO
7am: The way back to the Valle de Cócora will be done by a path different from the one of the ascent.
We will leave the Primavera towards our first objective, El Alto de la Virgen, where we can enjoy a beautiful landscape. From there, we will start a descent to Finca Estrella de Agua where we will take a delicious panela water, and we will then continue going down. Around midday we will be arriving at La Casa de los Humibries, a reserve where we will have lunch and we will have the opportunity to appreciate these beautiful birds less than a meter away, together with other fauna and flora very special to this place. After this we will reach the Quindío River, which we will cross several times using suspension bridges to finally reach the Valle del Cócora. There, a vehicle will transport us to Salento, the cutest and oldest town in Quindío.
