Taxi : 18 km 30 min by Taxi (subject to traffic conditions) cost : around $25.000 COP. A bit more on Sundays and during night time.
Public transport : Take the Transmilenio up until « Universidades ». Estimate 30 minutes + 20 minutes walking to the hostel. Warning: this path is a bit difficult!
Bus station: Around 25 min. by taxi (around $20.000)
Public transport : there is a bus called «Germania K4 » that goes to la Candelaria (around $6.500). We do not recommend this mean of transport, it's cheaper but takes longer and it’s less reliable. In fact, the bus routes regularly change, if you take a bus to get to la Candelaria we recommend you verify it's destination.
The buses and busetas, are always small, Masaya suggests that you share a taxi, especially if you have luggage. To increase security, we recommend that you take a certified taxi from the airport exit. In Colombia all the taxis are yellow. The quoted prices are given for information purposes only.
The hostel is located at the heart of Santa Marta ´s historical center, 100 meters from the cathedral and from the bay area.

- Airport : 20 minutes by taxi (around $25.000)
- Public transport : Around 30 minutes by bus (Direction : KRA 5 or historical center- around $2.500)
- Bus station: 10 min walking or 5 minutes by taxi (around $5.000)
It’s easy to find your way around Santa Marta, the city has a square setting. You won’t have problems to go to the city center. After a long trip, we recommend taking a taxi.
We would only recommend you to take the bus when travelling lightly and with plenty of time. A small increase in price can be applied at night, on Sundays or during holidays (around $5.000 more from the airport).
From Bogota (11 hours): Go to the bus station “Salitre” and take a direct bus to San Agustin or Pitalito (around 80,000 COP) – Coomotor or Cootranshuila bus companies.
From Medellin (16 hours): Go to the bus station north and take a direct bus to San Agustin (around 100,000 COP) – Coomotor bus company
From Popayan (4.30 hours): Go to the main bus station in Popayan and take a direct bus to San Agustin (around 35,000 COP) – Sotracauca or Cootranshuila bus companies.
From Neiva (4.30 hours): Go to the main bus station in Neiva and take a direct bus to San Agustin (around 35,000 COP) – Many bus companies operate to San Agustin.
From Pitalito (45 minutes): Go to the bus station in Pitalito and take a bus, a colectivo or a shared taxi to San Agustin (around 15,000 COP) – Frequent departures from 5am to 6pm
Once you arrive at San Agustin, take a taxi or moto-taxi to the hostel (5min). It will cost you between 5,000 and 10,000 COP
The airport to get at Masaya San Agustin is located in Pitalito ( 40 mn away from the hotel). Satena airline is flying to Pitalito from Bogota or Cali.
Taxi: It takes 45 minutes to go from the airport to the hostel (25 USD)
Public transport: Around 1:30h by bus. Take the green bus at the airport to Rio Coca Station (60 minutes – 2,25 USD). Then take a bus to station “la Y” of Trole bus (15 minutes – 0,25 USD). Take the bus “C1” until the Santo Domingo Station (30 minutes – 0,25 USD) and go up one block by Rocafuerte Street.
From Carcelen Bus Station (North Terminal): Take a bus to “la Y” station (30 minutes – 0,25 USD). Then, take the trole bus until the Santo Domingo Station (30 minutes – 0,25 USD) and go up one block by Rocafuerte Street.
From Quitumbe Bus Station (Southern Terminal): Take the trole bus until the Santo Domingo Station (40 minutes – 0,25 USD) and go up one block by Rocafuerte Street.
