Otavalo, the capital of indigenous culture in Ecuador, is also an authentic Alibaba cavern and you will get lost in its maze in search for the most intricate handicrafts. But this tour offers many more surprises such as bizcocho tasting, beautiful landscapes and a leather goods market.
Otavalo, just a two-hour drive from Quito is characterized by its huge handicrafts market where merchants come from all over Ecuador to display their work. It is the capital of indigenous culture. This tour however offers more with a biscuits factory visit (bizcocho) and fantastic views over Andean landscapes.
After being picked up at Masaya at 6:30 am, you will begin the tour in Cayambe, one of the highest volcanoes where you will taste the local specialty: the bizcocho. You will then make another stop at the viewpoint of Lago San Pablo to gaze at the views on the Imbabura and take some pictures before arriving at Otavalo.
Once there, you will be given some free time to dive in the atmosphere and why not practice your bargaining skills and please your loved ones at home with the treasures you found for them.
